From complex data to controlled delivery

A closer look at the challenge, my role, and the resulting operating controls across enterprise transformations.

Mandate 01 • Enterprise ERP Modernization

Global Enterprise S/4HANA Transformation

Challenge

A global S/4HANA program needed consistent master and transactional data across SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, PLM, and supply-chain platforms.

My role & intervention

I led the Americas Data Tower across governance, architecture, and migration. I established federated MDG ownership, design-decision traceability, reconciliation controls, and Syniti ADM migration gates.

Outcome

Governed 101 migration objects, established steering-committee visibility, and reduced legacy duplication by more than 60%.

Mandate 02 • Compliance & Regulatory Alignment

Regulated Multi-Jurisdiction Data Governance

Challenge

Global data standards had to accommodate U.S. FDA requirements, excise tax, 50-state reporting, and GAAP/IFRS reporting needs.

My role & intervention

I integrated regulatory requirements into enterprise governance, MDG, migration approvals, and reporting controls.

Outcome

Connected regulatory requirements to implementation, with formal data-load approvals, audit evidence, and business sign-off.

Mandate 03 • Information Lifecycle Management

Enterprise Information Lifecycle & SAP ILM

Challenge

A regulated enterprise needed to manage growing SAP data volumes while retaining records and preserving retrieval and legal-hold capabilities.

My role & intervention

I designed the information-lifecycle architecture across SAP ILM, ADK, archival storage, retention controls, and operational governance.

Outcome

Separated active operational data from retained historical records in a scalable lifecycle model with auditability and legal-hold readiness.

Mandate 04 • Program Recovery

Transformation Intervention & Delivery Recovery

Challenge

A critical data initiative faced fragmented accountability, cross-functional dependencies, and escalating delivery risk.

My role & intervention

I clarified responsibilities and decision rights, introduced structured risk and dependency tracking, and connected architecture decisions to executable work packages.

Outcome

Restored ownership, decision transparency, and steering-committee visibility, supporting controlled cross-functional delivery.

At the decisions that matter

Advisory support when data risk, unclear accountability, or delivery friction threatens the next stage of transformation.

Inflection Point 02

Enterprise Governance Isn't Working

The Situation

Policies exist on paper, but ownership, decision rights, controls, lineage, and data-quality accountability remain fragmented across organizational silos.

My Mandate

Design the governance operating model, decision architecture, critical-data controls, data-quality framework, and executive accountability structure.

Goal: Governance becomes an active operating system rather than a shelf-bound policy document.
Inflection Point 03

AI Ambition Has Outrun Data Readiness

The Situation

Executives demand GenAI, predictive models, or enterprise copilots, while underlying data quality, lineage, access, privacy, and governance remain unresolved.

My Mandate

Assess AI/data readiness, identify material control gaps, and establish the data, governance, and lifecycle foundation required for responsible scaling.

Goal: AI investments move from risky experimentation toward governed, scalable enterprise adoption.
Inflection Point 04

Data Debt Is Consuming the Enterprise

The Situation

Legacy data sprawl, explosive HANA memory growth, regulatory retention obligations, redundant systems, and uncontrolled information lifecycle costs accumulate.

My Mandate

Create an ILM, archiving, retention, tiering, and defensible-disposition strategy spanning business, regulatory, and technical requirements.

Goal: Substantially lower infrastructure burden while preserving required legal information and auditability.
Inflection Point 05

Transformation Program Has Stalled

The Situation

A large program has technology, people, and capital funding, but organizational friction, siloed handoffs, and architectural ambiguity prevent coordinated execution.

My Mandate

Diagnose underlying blockers, clarify cross-functional ownership and dependencies (RAACI/RAAIDD), establish decision gates, and rebuild the delivery operating model.

Goal: Executives regain visibility, accountability, forward momentum, and predictable project cadence.

Frameworks for better decisions

Practical structures for assessing readiness, establishing control, and making complex work repeatable.

Framework 01

Enterprise Data Readiness for AI™

"AI maturity cannot sustainably exceed data-control maturity."

Evaluates enterprise readiness to scale Generative and Predictive AI across six foundational dimensions via the Enterprise Data Readiness Index™:

  • 1. Governance: Decision rights, ownership & accountability
  • 2. Quality: Accuracy, completeness & fitness for use
  • 3. Semantic Integrity: Shared ontology & metadata definitions
  • 4. Lineage & Traceability: Pipeline origin & transformation
  • 5. Access & Control: Privacy, security & sensitive data gates
  • 6. Lifecycle & Evidence: Retention, auditability & disposal
Framework 02

Governance-Before-Code™

"Resolve ownership, definitions, and acceptance gates before migration logic becomes a production dependency."

A transformation control framework deployed across the 7-stage Golden Dataset lifecycle:

  • 1. Define: Business meaning, scope & baseline rules
  • 2. Own: RAACI decision rights and sign-off accountability
  • 3. Qualify: Cleansing rules & readiness thresholds
  • 4. Transform: Technical mapping & migration logic
  • 5. Reconcile: Rigorous source-to-target validation
  • 6. Certify: Formal business acceptance & audit evidence
  • 7. Operate: Post-go-live federated governance
Framework 03

Three-Tier Enterprise Information Lifecycle™

"Separate operational pressure from legal retention and defensible disposition."

A vendor-independent lifecycle model managing data economics, compliance holds, and storage costs:

  • Tier 1 Operational Data: High-use active transactional & master data in production environments.
  • Tier 2 Retained Historical: Low-frequency, legally or business-mandated historical data held in compliance storage.
  • Tier 3 Defensible Disposition: Controlled, auditable destruction following retention schedules & hold releases.
  • Powered by SAP ILM, ADK, cloud archive platforms, and retention governance.
